Arabiaweather.com-Ismail Kasemi- The Marmara Islands are an archipelago located in the Sea of Marmara (Turkey), located in the mid-western part of the country, near the exit of the Aegean Sea (Dardanelles Strait) and outside the Kapidağ Peninsula on the Asian coast.
Not to be confused with the Princes' Islands, which is also a group of islands in the Sea of Marmara, located a few miles off the Asian coast from Istanbul. Administratively, the Marmara Islands are part of the Balıkesir province.
The Marmara Archipelago consists of four large inhabited islands, namely Marmara Island, Avsha, Paşalimani and Ekinlik, in addition to a number of uninhabited islands, islets and rocks.
Marmara Island
It is the main island of the group and consists mostly of mountains with windswept hills to the north and pine forests to the south.
disclose
It is the most popular and very crowded city and is famous for its sandy beaches and vineyards.
Pachalimani
It is a rural island with a number of villages along the coast.
Akinlik
It is the smallest of the islands inhabited by locals with a conservative character.
There is a boat service all year round that can accommodate cars from Tigerdak on the northern European coast of the Sea of Marmara and costs 15 TL per person, and from Erdak on the south Asian coast of the Sea of Marmara.
There are also fast passenger-only ferries, which can be taken from Istanbul during the summer months, costing 40 TL per person or 30 TL per person with slow ferries leaving on Saturdays.
And remember that you will not find any problems in moving between the islands once you reach the ports on any island, as most ferries travel between the islands.
