Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Meteorological Monitoring Center are monitoring the latest indications of internally developed remote sensing systems, in addition to what the monitoring systems are monitoring about the developments of Tropical Cyclone Julian (Crayton), which is now over the waters of the South China Sea. It is surrounded by very large amounts of cumulonimbus clouds laden with large amounts of rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds reaching a speed of 198 km/h. It is now affecting Taiwan with heavy rains and high waves and threatening floods.

- Movement : The system is moving northeast at a speed of 6 km/h, and its speed is expected to increase to 10 km/h during the next 24 hours.
- Atmospheric pressure : The minimum surface pressure at the center is 910 hPa, indicating a strong atmospheric system.
- Wind speed : Sustained winds near the center reach 55 meters per second (about 198 km/h).
Gusts : Gusts can reach 68 metres per second (about 244.8 km/h).
After monitoring the latest computer modeling data at the Arab Weather Center, the cyclone is expected to move northeast to hit Taiwan hard on Wednesday before retreating on Thursday and Friday when it reaches the North China Sea. The cyclone threatens Taiwan with torrential rains and strong winds, with catastrophic floods due to the high tide and huge amounts of rain that may exceed what is recorded in Arab countries in years, as the amounts of rain may exceed 1000 mm within days, which is the amount of rain that falls on some areas of the Arab world for decades.
According to the outputs from the numerical computer modeling, the eye of the typhoon is moving away from the coast of the coastal city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan, which will be in the eye of the typhoon during the day on Wednesday. As the eye wall passes, rains, winds and waves are expected to intensify.
The heavy rainfall that the cyclone will bring, especially in the coming hours, could lead to severe flooding, threatening infrastructure and property and putting the lives of residents at risk. Heavy rains could also lead to landslides and rockslides, posing an additional risk to villages and residential areas near the slopes.
