In contrast to the dry month of July in the region, the initial forecasts for August are excellent and very promising in terms of the extension of tropical humidity towards the region for long periods of time, which means continuity and renewal of rainfall on a daily basis, and eventually excellent amounts of rain.
It is expected that the Sultanate of Oman will be directly affected by the moisture tide coming from the Arabian Sea starting from Tuesday until Friday, with clouds flowing towards the Sultanate, and thundershowers of rain falling, including all of the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, North Al Sharqiyah, Muscat and Dhofar, which may be heavy at times and accompanied by showers. From hail, flow of valleys and torrents, and on Saturday the chances of rain decrease again as tropical humidity returns to flow into the Sultanate starting in the middle of the week and the rain is renewed on a daily basis and continues with varying intensity until mid-August at the very least.
Despite the limited chances of rain in the mountains of the eastern Emirates during the coming days, we are monitoring at the “Arab Regional Weather Center” that the chances of rain will improve gradually as of the middle of next week, coinciding with the flow of tropical moisture towards the region, which may include the city of Al Ain and the interior parts of Dubai. Sharjah and Ajman, and the effects of these clouds may extend towards some coasts in the form of falling winds and dust.
As for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it will also be under the influence of weather fluctuations from today until mid-August at the very least, so that cumulonimbus thunderclouds will continue to form on the highlands of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, increasing in intensity and extending towards Taif and Mecca starting Thursday, and extending during the next week to include Parts of Najran, the Empty Quarter, and perhaps parts of the southern Riyadh region administratively. Arabia Weather will issue more details about the latest developments in rain forecasts as soon as possible.
In Yemen, it is expected that most of its regions, especially the mountainous sectors, will be affected by these weather fluctuations, as cumulus thunderclouds are expected to form and heavy rain will fall, sometimes accompanied by hail showers.
