The United States has maintained the current travel restrictions related to the coronavirus, amid the increasing cases caused by the delta variant, which is not receiving tourists from EU member states, the United Kingdom, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran and Brazil anytime soon.
The US State Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued new warnings for five countries, citing a spike in COVID-19 cases, with Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Kyrgyzstan now reaching Level 4 - "no travel".
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urged people to resume wearing masks in public places in the areas most at risk, nearly two-thirds of the United States.
Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California are two of the biggest tourist attractions that have reinstated the rules for wearing masks indoors for everyone ages two and older, regardless of vaccination status, as well as the Smithsonian Institution, a huge complex that includes 19 museums are largely concentrated in Washington, DC.
Meanwhile, the popular Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago kicked off Thursday. Hundreds of thousands are expected to gather in Grant Park over the four days of performances. Proof of complete vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required for admission within 72 hours of arrival.
The outlook is more optimistic in the UK, where COVID-19 cases are down 36%, just one week after England scrapped nearly all of its coronavirus-related legal restrictions.
It could be because the European Football Championship is over, or maybe because people are spending more time outside because of the warmer weather, or maybe because people are reporting fewer positive coronavirus results because they want to avoid isolation and self-quarantine... Nobody really knows why.
Of course, this is good news for visitors who have been fully vaccinated from the United States and the European Union, and from 2 August will be able to enter England, Scotland and Wales without the need for quarantine.
Indoor restaurants in Ireland have reopened for fully vaccinated people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the past six months. The indoor halls of restaurants have been closed since March 2020, which is difficult in a country known for its harsh weather.

Fully vaccinated international tourists will be welcome to enter Saudi Arabia from August 1, without the need for quarantine.
Kuwait announced Tuesday that only fully vaccinated citizens will be allowed to travel abroad, effective August 1, according to Reuters. Exemptions will be granted for children, pregnant women and those with medical conditions.
And the country's aviation authority said, on Tuesday, that all arrivals to Kuwait must undergo a negative Corona test before boarding their flights.
They will also have to self-quarantine for seven days until they test negative for coronavirus inside Kuwait.
