Arab Weather - The weather and environmental forecast expert in Kuwait, Issa Ramadan, expected that the humid weather will begin to dominate starting tomorrow evening (Monday), with the possibility of it continuing for a week or more.
Ramadan explained in a post on his official account on the “X” platform that the winds will be southeasterly to variable in direction, which will make the atmosphere stressful in Kuwait, especially during the evening hours. He added that this atmosphere may exacerbate cases of seasonal allergies and asthma, noting that this period is known locally as “Safri.”
The "Safri" season is a transitional climatic period that occurs in some Gulf countries, especially Kuwait, at the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. This season is characterized by high humidity levels, fluctuations in temperatures, and changes in wind directions, which are often southeasterly or variable.
During this season, humidity increases, making the atmosphere stressful and uncomfortable, especially at night. “Zafri” is considered one of the seasons associated with an increased prevalence of seasonal allergies and respiratory diseases such as asthma, due to sudden changes in weather and high humidity.
The name "yellow" is attributed to the yellowness that may appear on the face or skin as a result of the fatigue and weakness that people suffer from due to this weather, in addition to the yellowness of plants that begin to dry up at the end of summer.
