Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - The latest computer modeling outputs for monitoring and tracking the movement of weather systems indicate the possibility of the eastern Mediterranean basin and the Levant being affected at the end of the week by the rush of a very cold polar air mass, pushing active northwesterly winds with strong gusts towards the north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting the emergence of wide dust waves that may be the most severe and influential since the beginning of the season.
In detail, it is expected that the dust wave will begin to affect the north of the Kingdom starting from the afternoon hours of Thursday, in the Al-Jouf and Northern Border regions in particular, so that the western winds will be remarkably active, accompanied by strong gusts exceeding 80 km/hour. Due to the lack of rain, dry and disintegrated soil, and the absence of vegetation cover, it is expected that waves of high-density dust will form as a result, accompanied by a near-zero horizontal visibility, which portends negative effects on patients with respiratory and eye diseases.
We are monitoring in Arab Weather the possibility of this dense wave of dust rushing towards the south and southeast of the Kingdom during the dawn and daylight hours of Friday to include the Hafar Al-Batin region and parts of the eastern and central parts of the Kingdom, but with less intensity, which the weather will detail in the coming days.
