The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced that Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will return from his space journey on September 3, after successfully completing the longest space mission in Arab history, which spanned 6 months that he spent aboard the International Space Station.
Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will leave the International Space Station, accompanied by American NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoiberg, and Russian astronaut Andrey Fedyev, aboard the Dragon spacecraft on September 2. The team, wearing their pressure suits, would land near the coast of Tampa, Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico a day later.
Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will undergo special checks regarding weather conditions and recovery readiness at the designated landing site. After completing the verification processes, the following steps will be carried out:
