The surrounding areas receive moisture from the Arabian Sea.

It is expected, God willing, that cumulus clouds will multiply during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday over the Hajar Mountains, especially the central and western Hajar Mountains. These clouds will be accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by occasional thunder and activity in downdrafts, which may lead to flowing... Valleys and reefs in some areas.
