Arab Weather - News is accelerating in the Kingdom about the increase in infections with Corona virus, which reached until today, Wednesday, according to the latest summary issued by the government yesterday, Tuesday, 1438 cases.
The most important developments related to Coronavirus that the Kingdom witnessed from this morning, Wednesday, until two o'clock in the afternoon, were as follows:
Official authorities, clearance companies and the Vegetable and Fruit Exporters Syndicate, this morning, Wednesday, informed of the closure of the Al-Omari border center, “Al-Haditha Land Port”, after 18 new cases of Corona virus were recorded for workers at the center.
The closure of the crossing comes as a precaution to confront the Corona epidemic, according to the head of the Vegetable and Fruit Exporters Syndicate, Saadi Abu Hammad, stressing that no date has been set for the reopening of the crossing, which is one of 3 border crossings between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, according to Al-Ghad newspaper.
The Governor of Zarqa, Hijazi Assaf, announced the registration of two new infections with the Corona virus, for two young people who had contact, one of whom resided in the Al-Hashemiya Brigade and the other in the Rusaifa District.
Assaf indicated that the epidemiological investigation teams will head today to Al-Hashemiya and Al-Ruseifa to take isolation measures and withdraw samples from those in contact and neighboring areas for examination.
This brings the number of new cases of the new Coronavirus recorded recently in Zarqa Governorate to five, distributed over the areas of Jabal Princess Rahma, Jabal Al-Abyad and Prince Muhammad neighborhood, in addition to the two new infections in Al-Hashemiya and Al-Ruseifa.
Assaf also announced that, today, Wednesday, three residential buildings in the Rusaifa District were isolated, after a twenty-year-old man was infected with the Corona virus.
Assaf told the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that two residential buildings consisting of five apartments were isolated in the northern mountain area, where the injured young man resides in one of the two buildings in order to track those in contact with him and make sure that there are no other injuries.
He added that another building consisting of two apartments was also isolated in the Qadisiyah area, in which the relatives of the injured were staying.
Assaf indicated that 110 samples were taken from those in contact with the injured person in the northern mountain area, from neighbors and relatives, "waiting for their results, which we hope to be negative, appear. Also, samples are now being drawn from the residents of the isolated building in the Qadisiyah area and their neighbors."
Also, in the Ramtha Brigade, 3 new infections with the Coronavirus were recorded in contact with infected people, after the results of more than 300 samples appeared this morning, whose results were negative except for 3 of them positive, according to a medical source.
The source said that the injuries were transferred to isolation rooms in the Dead Sea hotels due to the appearance of mild symptoms on the injured and their general condition is good.
The Governor of Aqaba, Muhammad Al-Rafayaa, announced the registration of the first infection with the Corona virus in the governorate, for a customs employee.
Al-Rafayah said that the patient was carrying the disease from his infected sister in Amman, and he works at the customs center in Square No. 4.
Al-Rafiah indicated that the injured person works with the evening cheek, and the place where he works was sterilized and swabs were taken for all contacts and workers at the customs center, and the results were negative.
Meanwhile, other swab results are expected and will be announced within hours, confirming that the patient is currently in quarantine in the Dead Sea and he is a resident of the capital, Amman.
