Urgent Announcing the curfew in the cities of Makkah and Madinah for 24 hours, until further notice

Weather of Arabia - Today, the Ministry of the Interior announced a curfew throughout the cities of Makkah and Madinah all 24 hours a day, from today until further notice.

In detail, an official source at the Ministry of Interior stated that in the framework of the Kingdom’s efforts to confront the Corona virus pandemic, and in implementation of the recommendations of the competent health authorities to raise the degree of precautionary measures and preventive measures in the cities of Makkah and Madinah, to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents, the following:

• First: A curfew will be in place throughout the cities of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah for 24 hours a day, with continued entry to or exit from it, starting from its date and until further notice. The prevention of entry and exit does not include groups excluded from employees of the vital sectors in the public and private sectors, whose actions require continued performance during the prohibition period, according to what was stated in the Royal Decree No. 45942 dated 8/8/1441 AH.

• Second: It is permitted - in the narrowest range - for residents of the neighborhoods of the cities of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah to leave their homes to spend only the necessary needs such as health care and catering, within the residential neighborhood in which they reside, during the period from six in the morning until three in the afternoon every day, and those who wish In using banking services and ATMs according to a mechanism set by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in coordination with the ministries of the Interior and Health, and the Ministry of Interior called on all that the exit be for adults and in only necessary cases, in order not to expose children to the causes of transmission.

• Third: It is prohibited to practice any commercial activities within the residential neighborhoods of the cities of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, except for pharmacies, foodstuff stores, gas stations and banking services.

• Fourth: Limiting car mobility within the residential neighborhoods of the cities of Makkah and Madinah for the ones referred to in item "Second" to only one person, in addition to the vehicle commander, to reduce contact with the minimum, and the Ministry of Interior called on all citizens and residents to use express delivery services through device applications Smart, to order food and drug needs and other excluded goods and services and deliver them to homes.

The Ministry assured the public that these measures were taken in the framework of the Kingdom's efforts to preserve public health and prevent the spread of the "Corona" virus, and that it is subject to continuous evaluation with the competent health authorities, and also called on everyone to sense their individual responsibilities, adhere to the directions, and adhere to the isolation measures; in order to achieve the public interest .
