Weather of Arabia - While the Iraqi photographer, Murtaza Bassem, was sitting on the coast of the beach in New Zealand, he decided to fly his drone (a drone) over the capital's Bay, Wellington, until he finally reached one of the most mysterious places in the country.
The deserted island, known as "Soms", is about 4 kilometers from the place where the drone took off, which took the plane about 10 minutes to reach it.
What did the Iraqi photographer find after his plane reached the deserted island?
The area of the island is approximately 250 square meters, and it rises about 100 meters above sea level, and there are many rare birds and some livestock, and many tourist trips are organized to this island, but they are under the supervision of specialists to preserve its nature.
Basem explained that the island hosts a military base for launching missiles that was built during World War II, in order to protect the New Zealand capital from any naval attack by Japanese forces, pointing out that it was used as an exile for some dangerous prisoners as well.
According to the New Zealand Government's Department of Conservation website, the island's location was ideal for New Zealand's first inland port lighthouse, concentration camp, military defense site, and more.
This experience was a challenge and a risk for the Iraqi photographer, because of the possibility of any technical defect in the drone, which could cause it to fall into the sea. Not only that, but the seagulls also attacked his plane from everywhere, considering it a strange creature in the air.
The video was liked by many people, who asked Bassem to explore other exotic places.
And he repeated this experiment again using another type of drone, where he discovered a pool of water above the deserted island, which really surprised him, wondering how the fresh water came out of the small island, which is floating above the ocean.
