ArabiaWeather.com- Archaeologists managed to re-install the statue of King Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt between 1417-1317 BC, in his temple in Luxor, Upper Egypt.

The statue , carved from quartzite, is 13 meters high. In it, King Amenhotep III appears standing, putting his left leg on the right, as if he was receiving those coming from the north.

The statue was divided into 4 huge blocks and hundreds of small pieces; As a result of its destruction during the earthquake that struck Egypt more than 3,000 years ago, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities.

The mission, consisting of Egyptian and German scientists, was able to restore the statue, which weighs 50 tons, and re-install it again, within two months of work.
