Arab Weather - The French Meteorological Authority expects heavy rain to fall in Paris during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics today, Friday. The authority explained that the sky of Paris will be overcast at midday, with the possibility of light rain falling in the morning, with the weather improving at some point. In the afternoon, however, the authority warned on Thursday of the possibility of heavy rain in the evening, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

Meteorologist's statements

Meteorologist Patrick Marlier said:

“We expect up to 25-30 mm of rain, which is equivalent to a normal 15-day rainfall in just a few hours.”

According to what was reported by the Associated Press, in the event of rain, the ceremony is expected to continue as planned, starting at 7:30 pm Moscow and Mecca time, and continuing for more than three hours.

The French Meteorological Authority indicated that at the present time, the risk of rain during the opening ceremony cannot be ruled out, and that forecasts have not yet been confirmed. The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will be held outdoors on the bank of the Seine River.

The 33rd Summer Olympics mark their opening ceremonies tonight at 7:30 pm local time in Paris on the Jardins du Trocadéro Seine River.

Details of the 2024 Olympics competitions

The Olympic competitions will continue until August 11, and 15 Russian athletes will participate in a neutral manner, including seven tennis players. The Games program includes 32 Olympic sports, including 28 basic sports, in addition to 4 added sports, distributed among 48 disciplines in 329 sporting events.
