Concern after a series of earthquakes struck Türkiye

Weather of Arabia - The Turkish authorities reported that a series of earthquakes had occurred in central Turkey, with the intensity of the strongest tremor reaching 5.6 degrees. Fortunately, no human losses were recorded as a result of these tremors, but they caused some material damage, which prompted the authorities to raise the state of alert in the region, Residents felt at least three tremors late in the day and early in the evening in the Tokat region, which is located between the shores of the Black Sea and northern Anatolia.

One of these tremors, measuring 5.6 degrees , injured a person and caused material damage, according to Health Minister Fakhruddin Koca, who confirmed that ambulances and rescue vehicles were sent to the site immediately.

Earthquakes hit central Türkiye

Local news agency AHI reported that there were five injured among residents who panicked while trying to flee their homes. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya expressed his follow-up of the situation, as he went to the site of the accident, the governor of Tokat, and was accompanied by a delegation from the Turkish government relief agency "AFAD."

According to AFAD, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 5.25 kilometers below the Earth's surface.

It is noteworthy that on February 6, 2023, large areas in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria witnessed a devastating earthquake that killed about 60,000 people in the two countries.
