Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest computer simulation outputs indicate that there are initial indications of a strong and massive high pressure system dominating important areas of the European continent in the coming days, specifically its center and north, which may force an early cold air mass in all layers of the atmosphere, carrying unusual polar characteristics, to reach the eastern region of the European continent at this time of year, to settle over the waters of the Black Sea.
The latest computer outputs show the development of a low-pressure system into a rainstorm over the Black Sea in the coming days, as the low pressure system feeds on the warm surface temperatures of the Black Sea, which reach about 25 degrees Celsius.
As the storm forms in the western Black Sea, atmospheric pressure is expected to drop rapidly, and dense bands of cumulonimbus clouds will begin to circulate around the center of the storm, with heavy rains falling on northern Turkey, specifically Trabzon and its surroundings, in addition to Georgia. The areas most affected by this storm are the areas overlooking the Black Sea.
Due to the formation of thick cumulonimbus clouds carrying large amounts of rain, the risks of floods and the flow of valleys and ravines increase significantly, in addition to the formation of floods, rising water levels in roads, and the occurrence of rock and landslides, especially on slopes as a result of soil saturation with rainwater.
This storm will also be accompanied in the coming days by strong winds with speeds exceeding 100 km/h, causing high waves and rough seas, especially in the depths of the Black Sea. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid sailing in the Black Sea during the passage of the rainstorm.
Under the influence of the cold air mass, Turkey is witnessing a sharp drop in temperatures, reaching below zero at night in the highlands. In the northern region overlooking the Black Sea, temperatures are expected to range between 2 and -5 degrees Celsius in many areas (reaching only 2 degrees in Ankara) and temperatures may reach 10 degrees below zero in the northeastern highlands, with heavy snowfall on the highlands, especially in the highlands of Trabzon and Rize. Heavy snowfall also includes cities such as Iğdır and Erzurum, with large accumulations that hinder aspects of public life, with the formation of frost, which may lead to difficulties in transportation due to the accumulation of snow and ice.
God knows best.
