Weather of Arabia - The first thing that comes to our mind when mentioning a depression is cold winter weather, heavy clothing, heavy rain or even snow, but it is not necessary that every depression will bring rain and cold weather, there are types of depressions, including frontal depressions that bring rain and the usual winter weather The other type is thermal depressions, from which a type of depression is branched, known as the thermal depression, which brings a rise in temperatures, and this is what the region is experiencing recently.
Before we enter into how thermal depressions form and define them, we must know that depression is a term that is not related to temperature. Depression is a term that expresses a decrease in atmospheric pressure values in a specific area on the Earth's surface from the surrounding atmospheric pressure values.
This type of depressions (thermal depressions) is formed as a result of the high heating of the land (the surface of the earth). In the spring, the temperatures on land begin to rise, as the surface of the earth heats up as a result of an increase in the amount of solar radiation of various kinds, and because of the difference in specific heat between land and water, it remains The surface of the sea water becomes cold, and the land becomes warmer, and thus the air on land begins to expand, its weight decreases, and the atmospheric pressure decreases, announcing the generation of a thermal depression.
Thermal depressions are accompanied by a rise in temperatures most of the time, and at times they are responsible for the occurrence of heat waves in the region. In the upper layers of the atmosphere, forming unstable weather conditions that result in the formation of cumulus thunderstorms and precipitation despite the high temperatures.
In many cases, these depressions are accompanied by hot, dry winds laden with dust, as is the case in the Khamaseen wind, which is provoked by a thermal depression.
God knows.
