She added, "In one of the stalls, about 700 grams of Saudi truffles were offered for 15 dinars, while an Iraqi kilo of it was sold at prices ranging from 40 to 55 dinars, depending on the size of the grain, while a Saudi kilo was sold in another stall for 20 dinars, and the prices of the Iraqi kilo ranged In the third and fourth stalls between 20 and 40 dinars, with a difference in size between the grains.

And she pointed out that "citizens confirmed that the prices are exaggerated due to the small quantities of truffles circulating in the market, which witnesses the presence of small numbers of customers, compared to the same period last year, pointing to the need to monitor prices by the competent authorities, especially since the prices of a kilo of truffles are approaching From the price of the “Shefali” or even the imported Australian sheep sold in the livestock markets or the livestock company.

They added that most of the stalls do not have large truffles, as most of them are small, which reduces its quantities when eating it after cooking it at home, pointing out that customers prefer large sizes despite the high price.

For their part, the sellers suggested that prices would decrease during the coming days, especially if other quantities of truffles entered from abroad, especially from African countries or Iran, in addition to the Kuwaiti truffles that are most in demand among customers, stressing that February of each year witnesses the entry of separate types. of faqaa, which contributes to attracting citizens and residents to the market.
