Corona patients ... Global Health recommends not to take ibuprofen

Weather of Arabia - The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended on Tuesday that "those suffering symptoms similar to those of the Corona virus (Covid-19) avoid medication by taking ibuprofen," after the French authorities warned that anti-inflammatory drugs could make the effects of the virus more dangerous.

The warnings were issued, over the weekend, by the French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand, after the publication of a recent study in the weekly "Lancet" medical journal, which assumed that the enzyme, strengthened when taking anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, could facilitate infection and increase the severity of infections associated with the infection.

When asked about the study, WHO spokesman Christian Lindemeyer told reporters in Geneva that the UN experts "are studying the matter to give more guidance"

"Meanwhile, we recommend that you use paracetamol instead, and do not initiate the use of ibuprofen as a matter of self-medication, this is important," he said, stressing that if he prescribes ibuprofen "a specialist doctor, that of course is up to him."

His comments came after Ferran posted a tweet in which he warned that the use of ibuprofen and similar anti-inflammatory drugs could be "a factor that increases the risk" of Covid-19 infection.

"In the case of a fever, they take paracetamol," he wrote, stressing that in the case of patients who are already being treated with anti-inflammatory drugs they should "consult their doctor"
