Weather of Arabia - King Hejazi - Officials in the emergency room of the Red Crescent warned of the expectations of the collapse of the Gaza Dam, which is located in northeastern Libya, after the number of flood victims reached more than 5,200, including 145 Egyptians, whose bodies arrived at the Tobruk morgue, according to a statement published by the administration in Her Facebook page Tuesday.

The source said, “If the Gazza Dam collapses, a disaster will occur in the city of Persis.”

The height of the Gazza Dam is more than 200 feet, and residents say that when the rains intensified, the dam's water overflowed towards residential areas, which helped in sweeping away buildings.

As for Derna, the head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, announced on Tuesday the presence of a large number of bodies that were swept into the sea by torrents from the city of Derna, indicating that there is difficulty in how to recover them from the sea.

Regarding the number of victims of the torrential rains caused by the hurricane, Al-Dabaiba said, “We will not rush to announce the numbers of victims unless the missing persons are confirmed by the competent authorities.”
