When will the first day of Eid al-Fitr 2022 be astronomical?

At the outset, it must be clarified that the Arab countries will differ in the date of investigating the Shawwal crescent for this year, as most countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will investigate the Shawwal crescent on Saturday, April 30, 2022, which coincides with Ramadan 29 in these countries, while Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman and Morocco will investigate Comoros and the crescent of Ramadan on Sunday 1 May.

As for the astronomical conditions surrounding the investigation process, the central conjunction (Central New Moon) will occur on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 20:28 UTC, God willing, that is, at exactly 11:28 PM Mecca Al-Mukarramah time, which means that the birth of the moon will be after sunset. Therefore, seeing the crescent of Shawwal is impossible in all Arab countries after sunset on Saturday, and accordingly Sunday will complete the month of Ramadan in the countries that will investigate the crescent of the month of Shawwal on that day, and these countries will announce on Monday the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

 

On Sunday, the astronomical conditions are favorable and strong for the sighting of the crescent of the month of Shawwal.

 

When is the date of the first days of Eid al-Fitr 2021-1442 for an astronomer?

 

A study conducted by Arab Weather showed that seeing the crescent of the month of Shawwal - Eid al-Fitr 1443-2022 will be impossible on Saturday, April 30 in all countries, due to the non-birth of the crescent, in addition to the setting of the moon before the sun in all regions, while astronomical calculations indicate that the central conjunction ( Al-Mahaq Central) will occur after sunset on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 10:00 pm Mecca Al-Mukarramah time, God willing.
