This weather system will lead, God willing, to the return of the activity of the north-eastern winds, which are called Santa Ana winds, during the coming hours and will continue until Wednesday.

Santa Ana winds are expected to be strong in large areas of Southern California, with some gusts exceeding 120 km/h in the mountainous areas surrounding the Los Angeles Basin, which is currently exposed to large fires. The Arab Weather Center expects that these expected winds will further fuel the fires.

3) Finally, the occurrence of what is known as the “Fohn phenomenon”, which is that the Santa Ana winds that blow from the northeast when they descend the mountains become very warm and dry, which greatly stimulates the occurrence of fires.
