Scene of a dark sandstorm on the Arabian Peninsula from satellite

What most distinguished this storm was the complete lack of horizontal visibility in Riyadh, Eastern Province, parts of Qassim, Qatar and Bahrain, in conjunction with strong winds.

The storm was moving at a very high speed, exceeding 100 km/h, which led to its rapid spread to the airspace of the Arabian Gulf and the Emirates. It was also distinguished by its release of more than 25 million tons of dust into the atmosphere, which made it difficult for the dust to settle and remain suspended in the atmosphere until the preparation of this report.
