Egypt | Closing times for shops, restaurants and cafes on New Year's Eve

Weather of Arabia - In conjunction with the weekly holidays and New Year's Eve, shops, restaurants and cafes in Egypt continue, today, Friday, to extend working hours for an additional hour in accordance with the ministerial decision of the Minister of Local Development to organize the opening and closing times of shops, public restaurants, cafes, workshops, craft works and malls.

The following is an explanation of the opening and closing times for shops, restaurants and cafes in the winter season and on holidays and feasts:

1. All shops and malls, except for restaurants and cafes, will be closed at 11 pm instead of 10 pm.
2. Closure of restaurants and cafes, including those in commercial malls, at 1 am instead of 12 midnight.
3. Continuation of the take-away service.
4. Continuing a 24-hour home delivery service for restaurants and cafes.
5. All workshops and craft shops within the residential block open daily from eight in the morning and close at six in the evening.
6. Exceptions are made for workshops on roads, gas stations, and workshops related to urgent services to citizens, for which a decision is issued by the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Licensing Public Stores.
7. The opening and closing dates of shops located in the coastal and tourist governorates may be modified by a decision of the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Licensing Public Stores.
8. Grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries and ovens are excluded from the timings.
9. The night activities of some shops, such as fruit and vegetable shops, poultry shops, wholesale markets and pharmacies, are taken into account.
