Egypt | Heat wave intensifies, temperatures exceed 40 degrees Celsius in Greater Cairo on Thursday

Arab Weather - The high air pressure will intensify in the Republic in the coming days and during the weekend, along with the accompanying increase in heating operations for the very hot air mass. The effect of the heat wave will increase and another rise in temperatures will occur on Thursday 9/12/2024, to be higher than their averages for this time of year by about 7-9 degrees Celsius.

Very hot weather in all regions

The weather will be very hot in various parts of the country, and the winds will be north to northwesterly, moderate in speed, accompanied by active gusts in the afternoon that will raise sand, causing a decrease in horizontal visibility, especially in the Upper Egypt governorates. Surface humidity levels will also rise, which will increase the feeling of hot weather, especially in areas close to water bodies.

Temperatures reach the early 40s in the northern regions with high humidity levels

Arab Weather experts are following up on what computer modeling indicates about expectations of recording a maximum temperature ranging between 39-41 degrees Celsius in the northern regions, including the northern part of Lower Egypt and neighborhoods of Greater Cairo, God willing, on Thursday, coinciding with the rise in humidity levels, which increases the intensity of the feeling of heat and discomfort.

With the heat wave, there is a rise in night (minimum) temperatures, and the weather tends to be relatively hot to hot in various regions, but the northern coasts and Sinai are an exception, as these regions are affected by marine air currents that lower temperatures and create a moderate but humid atmosphere.
