How to perform Eid al-Adha prayer

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, urged us to wash, wear the best clothes, and wear perfume for men in preparation for the Eid prayer, while adhering to the teachings of religion.

Prayer consists of two rak'ahs:

• The first rak'ah: It begins with the opening takbir, then the opening supplication and 7 takbirs with the hands raised. The imam recites Al-Fatihah and verses from the Qur’an, then continues bowing and prostrating.
• The second rak’ah: After the takbir of standing, the imam recites Al-Fatihah and verses from the Qur’an after 5 takbirs. He completes the bowing and prostration, then recites the Tashahhud and performs the salutation.
• Reciting Surahs: It is preferable to read Surat Al-A’la in the first rak’ah and Surat Al-Ghashiya in the second rak’ah.

The Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Sanctities announced the names and locations of Eid al-Adha prayer halls in all regions of the Kingdom. According to a statement issued by the Ministry, Eid prayers will be held at seven in the morning next Sunday, the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, 1445 AH, corresponding to 6/16/2024.
