Weather of Arabia - A Saudi girl loves the arts of aviation and flying high in the skies of the Kingdom, where her ambitions in the world of paragliding were fulfilled, despite her academic specialization as a member of the teaching staff of the “Kindergarten” department at Jazan University.
Captain Nihal Al-Hilal described her love for the sport of aviation, as it shows her freedom, discovery, and the spirit of adventure. She believes that this distinctive sport is accepted only by the passionate and distinguished. She also considers aviation a source of learning emotional balance, deliberation, boldness, non-hesitation, and courage in facing life’s challenges.
She points out that the main skills you have as a pilot are the ability to constantly learn, wing ground control, critical decision-making, in-flight control, and of course the skill of landing safely.
Nihal, speaking about her hobby of paragliding, points out several challenges she faces while carrying out this hobby. These challenges begin with the need to travel from her residence in Mahayil Asir to Mount Hada, where there is difficulty in having means of transportation to reach the take-off area. She also points out the lack of The infrastructure prepared for practicing this sport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Nihal says that the duration of training varies according to the trainee’s skill, ranging from two weeks to approximately a month , and she indicates that she overcame fears during this stage, while enhancing confidence in herself and her abilities, and adhering to aviation safety rules contributed to her success during the training period.
Nihal advises those interested in this sport to set their goals carefully, choose a reliable coach, commit to the training stage with all seriousness and continue to develop, in addition to paying attention to physical fitness and the financial aspect.
Nihal shares her exciting experience in the sport of paragliding , where she found strong support from her parents, and was able to achieve her dream of flying in the skies of several places in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , including Al-Soudah, Aqaba Al-Samaa, Mount Hada in Mahayil Asir, and the famous Badr Mountain. She also participated in flight experiments. In the UAE, Kuwait, and Oman, and faced new challenges in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Morocco, Ukraine, Albania, and Slovenia.
Nihal explained that she was honored to achieve a great achievement as the first Arab woman to pass the SIV course, and continues her training in advanced flying skills, such as Full Stall & Fly Back . She concluded her speech with her ambitions for the future, as she aspires to participate in international championships, represent the Kingdom efficiently, and achieve leadership as a leader of a women’s team, and she hopes Nihal wants to inspire and support those who are passionate about this sport, which is what she missed in her sporting career.
