The Tourism Authority intends to convert Jabal Al-Malissa into a park

ArabiaWeather.com- Jabal Al-Malissa in Medina will become the first open geological park in Saudi Arabia , as the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, in cooperation with the Geological Survey, intends to offer the mountain to investors. According to Al-Riyadh newspaper.

The director of the branch of the Tourism and National Heritage Authority in the city, Saleh Abbas, said that the project offered a part of Harrat Rahat for investment with an area of 92 km, in the center of which is Mount Melissa, which is 916 meters above sea level, indicating that the mountain is a dormant volcano with a large crater on its top, and formed lava that flowed From this volcano 742 years ago, landscape forms including tunnels and picturesque buttresses.

Abbas added that there is cooperation between the Tourism Authority, the Geological Survey Authority, and the region’s secretariat, to preserve Al-Hurra’s distinguished status as a tourist investment site, as it is famous for being the only region that has not been affected by change in a natural way.
