Arab Weather - Monsoon is a seasonal wind pattern characterized by significant changes in direction and speed between summer and winter. Monsoon occurs as a result of differences in atmospheric pressure resulting from temperature differences between land and oceans. In summer, land heats up faster than sea, causing air pressure to drop over land and moisture-laden winds to rush from the sea to land, causing heavy rains. In winter, the opposite happens, as land cools more quickly than oceans, causing winds to rush from land toward the sea.

Monsoon is particularly well known in areas of South Asia, such as India and Bangladesh, where it plays a major role in climate and agriculture.
