Arab Weather - The Japan Meteorological Agency warned citizens today, Saturday, of the risk of landslides, river flooding, and flooding in low-lying areas, in addition to strong winds, with the approach of Hurricane "Maria".

According to the Japanese news agency Kyodo, citing the meteorological statement, the typhoon is expected to hit northern Japan next Monday, which may cause rainfall exceeding the usual monthly average for August in that region.

The statement added that the typhoon is currently located east of the Japanese archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, and is moving north with wind speeds exceeding 90 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon is expected to bring up to 300 mm of rain to northeastern Japan over the next 24 hours, with another 200 mm in the following 24 hours.
