Arabiaweather.com - An architectural firm in Britain created new designs for homes, to avoid them being submerged during floods. The new design is based on building floating houses in rural areas, so that they can rise horizontally whenever the water level increases due to heavy rains.

One of the houses located in the Marlow region, eastern Britain, is the first of its kind in the country, and it can rise horizontally on four columns. The design ensures that all structures associated with the house will not be affected, whether it is electricity cables or water pipes, which are designed to be flexible.

And the engineer at the Baka company, Richard Coates, says that when the water level increases, the house rises, so that it may rise a full two meters high, which makes it able to avoid a catastrophic flood.
