Arab Weather - The latest weather forecasts, based on computer models, indicate that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will gradually be affected in the coming days by a cold air mass, starting from the northern regions and reaching the central region, including the capital, Riyadh, at the end of the week, causing temperatures to drop significantly, especially at night.
The cold air mass is expected to increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, and its effects will be concentrated on the northern regions (the northern borders), including the regions of Al-Jawf, Hail, Qassim and Hafar Al-Batin, which will lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures to reach about 10-12 degrees Celsius during the day as a maximum, God willing. As for the rest of the regions, the weather will be moderate, while it will tend to be hot on the coasts of the western part of the Kingdom. Clouds will appear in parts of the northern borders and Al-Jawf, accompanied by showers of rain. Showers are also likely to fall on parts of the southwest of the Kingdom.
On Thursday and Friday, the cold wave will deepen to include most regions of the Kingdom, except for the western regions, where temperatures will drop by 4-6 degrees Celsius below normal in Riyadh and the Eastern Region. Colder than usual weather will prevail in these regions, and may turn very cold at night and early morning hours, with the possibility of frost forming in large parts of the north of the Kingdom, where minimum temperatures will reach below zero degrees Celsius, about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, and freezing will occur in places where water collects and pools of water.
As for the western regions, especially the coastal parts, it is expected that they will remain away from the effects of the cold air mass, as they will be affected by warm easterly winds that will lead to a rise in temperatures on the coastal strip, including the city of Jeddah , as the weather tends to be hot, and the speed will be active, accompanied by strong gusts that may stir up dust and dirt and lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility.
As for the Arabian Gulf and the surrounding coasts, they are affected by cold, dry, and active winds that significantly increase the feeling of coldness. The sea in the Arabian Gulf becomes turbulent, with waves reaching a depth of more than one and a half to two meters. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid sailing in small boats, especially in the depths of the Arabian Gulf.
And God knows best.
