LG is also increasing its use of recycled and recyclable materials, such as more metal in the outer casings of its 2021 OLED TV models. And unlike LCD screens, OLED panels do not require harmful substances such as cadmium and indium, making OLED the natural choice for environmentally conscious customers. Even at the end of their life cycle, LG OLED TVs offer excellent resource efficiency and high recycling rate compared to LCD TVs , and are more complex and resource intensive to manufacture. Furthermore, LG plans to expand the use of recycled plastic in certain 2021 LCD TV models such as the QNED Mini LED , using up to 750 tons of recycled plastic this year alone.

LG has also used attractive and durable recycled plastics in all of its 2021 speakers. By the end of the year, the company expects to reduce nearly 300 tons of plastic waste in downstream materials, and to replace it in LG loudspeakers. Furthermore, LG has adopted cleaner packaging for the entire speaker range by using recycled and molded pulp and significantly reducing the use of polystyrene foam and plastic.

And by designing the L- shaped speaker boxes, LG was able to create a smaller footprint when charging, saving fuel and reducing emissions. And because the L- shape reduces empty space between bins, less fillers are needed, which means less litter in the owner's litter box.
