Arab Weather - The specialized weather maps at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that a cold air mass is rushing in all layers of the atmosphere towards the south of the European continent, which leads to the formation of a low pressure system over the western Mediterranean Sea and moves towards its central part, affecting many countries in southern Europe, especially Italy, and is accompanied by heavy snowfall over mountain peaks and heavy rains in the rest of the regions, coinciding with great activity in the winds and disturbance of the sea waves.
The direct effects of this weather system are expected to be on large areas of southern Europe, especially Italy and Greece, during the second half of the week, especially the southern parts. The low pressure system is expected, God willing, to cause the movement of dense bands of cumulonimbus clouds accompanied by heavy to very heavy rains, accompanied by strong thunderstorms and heavy hail showers, which increases the possibility of flooding and rising water levels. High-speed winds will also blow, reaching gusts of about 80-100 km/h, causing severe disturbance of sea waves, with waves reaching 3-5 meters in height, especially in the depths.
As the low pressure system moves towards the southeast, its effects include several countries in North Africa, especially Algeria and Tunisia, where active winds blow (leading to the formation of sandstorms in desert areas). The sea becomes rough and cold and rainy winter weather prevails during periods, with heavy rains sometimes.
Weather maps at the Arab Weather Center show that the low pressure system will move south towards the Gulf of Sirte in Libya and deepen at that time, at the end of the week, as Libya will be affected by rainy cumulonimbus clouds, and heavy rains will fall on various northern regions, accompanied by thunderstorms and perhaps hail showers, with great activity in wind speed, which will lead to the formation of sandstorms in desert areas.
The weather forecasting staff at the Arab Weather Center confirmed that the low pressure system currently over the sea does not have any semi-tropical characteristics, but rather resulted from the rush of a cold air mass upwards towards the Ionian Sea (which is considered part of the Mediterranean Sea). Due to the sharp temperature differences between the cold air coming from the European continent and the warmer sea surface temperature, the low pressure system was formed by God’s will.
And God knows best.
