Arab Weather - Computer outputs at the Arab Weather Center show that the Gaza Strip will be affected this week by cold and rainy winter weather, as the weather gets colder, especially at night. The weather will be wintry, cloudy and rainy at times, starting tonight, and the rain will be heavy at times, leading to water pools and rising water levels in some areas.
In detail, the Gaza Strip will gradually be affected, starting tonight, by a cold and rainy winter depression, as clouds multiply at different altitudes with showers of rain falling on parts of the Strip. Several reports have been received from the Arab Weather Center indicating that chances of rain will continue throughout the rest of the week, especially on Thursday, as amounts of rain clouds multiply near the coasts and gradually enter most areas of the Strip, resulting in rainfall that may be heavy, leading to water pools and rising water levels.
A significant drop in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is expected, with an increased feeling of cold during the day due to the absence of sunlight and rainfall, especially on Thursday. This rain comes after God Almighty bestowed relief and victory upon our brothers in the Gaza Strip, and we ask God that it be a rain of mercy that irrigates the land and those in it.
From the Arab Weather Regional Center, weather maps indicate that the Gaza Strip, like other areas of the eastern Mediterranean basin, will be affected by the polar cold wave starting Saturday and for several days, as temperatures drop further, increasing the suffering of families living in tents that are not qualified to withstand the cold weather, in conjunction with the continued chances of rain falling intermittently.
Weather maps of temperature behaviour indicate that as the cold wave deepens, night temperatures will witness a significant drop starting tonight and will increase during the coming nights to be between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, adding a new burden on families living in tents that are not qualified to withstand the cold weather.
In this context, the continuous decline in night temperatures raises concerns as the winter season approaches, as the severity of the cold is expected to increase, which may expose the lives of families, especially children and the elderly, to additional health risks, which requires the responsible authorities and humanitarian institutions to quickly intervene to support the displaced with heating supplies and appropriate winter blankets.
With the need for more effective equipment, this becomes even more important as temperatures are expected to drop further in the coming months, making it imperative to take proactive measures to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and ensure their safety in the face of the bitter cold.
May God help our brothers.
And God knows best.
