The Ministry of Energy announced remarkable progress for the Kingdom on the global stage, as it advanced its global rank in the Green Future Index by 10 places , and occupied first place in the Arab list, in addition to that it ranked twentieth globally in the emissions reduction index, and not only that, but it was able The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieves first place globally in increasing renewable energy production.

 

 

Modern projects transforming the future of energy

Within a short period of the launch of the Saudi Green Initiative, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz , the Kingdom witnessed the launch of a group of pioneering projects in the field of energy, and these projects include:

  • Launching 17 new renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 13.76 GW, which are expected to contribute to the removal of approximately 23.1 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
  • Launching the world's largest clean hydrogen production complex , which is expected to reach a production capacity of 250,000 tons per year by 2026.
  • To contribute to environmental conservation efforts, the first phase of the largest regional center for capturing, transporting and storing carbon dioxide was also launched in Jubail Industrial City. This project has a capacity of up to 9 million tons annually by 2027, and is expected to reach a maximum of 44 million. tons annually by 2035.
