Arab Weather - Philippine authorities announced on Saturday the evacuation of more than 250,000 people and the cancellation of flights for two days, as the violent typhoon "Man-Yi" approaches, threatening the archipelago from the east. The weather agency warned of strong winds and severe storms that could pose a major threat to lives and property.
Local media reported that authorities have ordered all ships to return to ports and urged coastal communities to evacuate their homes immediately. The typhoon, known locally as "Bebito" (international name: Man-Yi), is expected to intensify before making landfall, according to forecasters.

Several domestic flights have been suspended from today until tomorrow due to the typhoon's severe weather conditions. Man-Yi is the sixth major storm to hit the Philippines in the past month, killing 163 people, displacing thousands of families and destroying vast areas of crops.
Philippine Interior Undersecretary Marlow Iringan said about 255,000 people have already been evacuated from areas threatened by floods, landslides and severe storms. He also urged other residents to heed evacuation warnings to ensure their safety.
These measures indicate the extent of the danger posed by Typhoon Man-Yi and the authorities' preparedness to minimize potential damage and losses.
