Weather of Arabia - The Gallup World Sentiment Report 2022 , issued on Tuesday, showed that the feelings of pressure, sadness, anger, anxiety and physical pain that people suffer daily, recorded a historical number in public opinion measurements conducted annually by Gallup since 2006, which indicates a high "rate of global misery.”
The ten countries most exposed to negative feelings were ranked as follows: Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Jordan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Guinea, and finally Benin.
While the ten countries least vulnerable to negative experiences were as follows: Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Russia and South Africa, then Lithuania, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Mauritius, Kosovo, Taiwan and Kazakhstan.
The negative experiences experienced by people set a new record on the scale of the organization, as it was at 30 points in 2017 and 2018, to rise, respectively, until it reached 33 points in 2022/2021.
The institution's statistics indicate that negative feelings have not decreased since its measurements began in 2006, only twice. The first in 2007 and the second in 2014.
Gallup CEO John Clifton said this record of negative sentiment may not be surprising given that the world is suffering from war (Russia and Ukraine), economic inflation and the Corona pandemic, one of which is enough to make the world worse, but the global rise in the rate of misery began long before From the occurrence of these global crises, but began a decade ago.
Commenting on this report, sociology expert, University Professor Wadih Al-Amouni said in an exclusive interview with Sky News Arabia that "unhappiness has increased globally, and the reasons are many, most notably the economic crises in the world."
Amouni explained the reasons that contribute to the feeling of unhappiness, and enumerated:
"The citizen is experiencing a period of great turmoil and has become more unhappy, and has reached the point of autism and closed-minded behavior with fear of social integration, leading to a feeling of social autism," Amyoni said.
The report was based on measuring negative feelings on a question: Did you suffer most of your day yesterday from any of the following: physical pain, anxiety, sadness, stress and anger?
According to the report, it appears that:
Scientists today, in their attempts to remove negative feelings, aspire to make the person who suffers from these feelings imagine the possibilities of negative consequences that he will experience if the situation remains as it is, and at the same time imagine the great positive results that he will reap if he changes these feelings for the better. And this method has given great results in treating negative feelings and changing for the better.
The Great Qur’an used this method fourteen centuries ago, so we find in each of its texts an accurate depiction of negative feelings and what they may cause in the future, and at the same time, it accurately depicts the positive aspects and their results and benefits in this world and the hereafter. The human soul, by its nature, tends to love success, love stability and love Hope.
