Arab Weather - The weather forecasting staff at the Arab Weather Center issued an official report based on the latest computer simulation readings of the atmosphere stating that the Kingdom will be affected, God willing, starting from the late hours of Wednesday/Thursday night and during Thursday day by a normal air depression for this time of year, and that the air depression will move away on Friday and the Kingdom will be affected by moist air currents preceding the approach of a very cold air mass of Siberian polar origins on Saturday.
A low pressure system will be centered in the late hours of Wednesday/Thursday night to the west of Syria and will affect the Kingdom as a second-degree (normal) low pressure system. The weather will be cold tonight with a gradual increase in the amount of clouds, turning cloudy and the opportunity will be available over time for rain to fall, God willing, in most areas, especially in the late night hours and Thursday dawn. Low clouds will pass in contact with the ground surface in the mountainous highlands, leading to the formation of fog and a decrease in horizontal visibility. The winds will be westerly to northwesterly and between moderate to active in speed.
The Kingdom will be increasingly affected during the hours of Thursday by the cold air mass accompanying a low pressure system centered on the surface to the east of Syria, and temperatures will drop significantly, becoming about two degrees Celsius colder than average. The weather will be cold and cloudy, with showers of rain, God willing, in different regions of the Kingdom, God willing, accompanied by showers of hail at times. Fog formation is also not ruled out, especially in the morning hours in the high mountains as a result of the passage of clouds touching the ground surface.
The chances of rain will decrease in the afternoon hours, and the winds will be westerly, active in speed, with strong gusts at times, and will cause dust and sand storms in desert areas.
During the night hours of Thursday/Friday, the weather will be cold and mostly cloudy in general, and showers of rain are expected, God willing, from time to time, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom. Fog is also not ruled out in the high mountains as a result of the passage of clouds touching the ground surface.
On Friday, February 21, 2025, the Kingdom will continue to be affected by humid and cold air currents rushing behind the low pressure system, with cold and cloudy weather and scattered showers of rain. Temperatures will drop slightly again, becoming about 3-5 degrees Celsius below average. The weather will be cold and changeable, between partly cloudy and mostly cloudy, with scattered showers of rain, God willing, at intervals, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom.
On Friday/Saturday night, temperatures will drop further, with the weather being cold in most areas and very cold over the high mountainous areas. It will remain variable between partly cloudy and cloudy, and there will still be a chance for some random rain showers. However, it is expected that rainfall will intensify again in the hours after midnight in the north and center of the Kingdom.
During the daylight hours of Saturday, a polar air mass of very cold origin will approach the Kingdom, coming from the Siberian regions and will be located over Turkish territory. The consequences of this will be in the form of another noticeable drop in temperatures, so that they will become colder than their average for this time of year by about 6-8 degrees Celsius, and the maximum in the capital Amman will be around 6 degrees Celsius.
The weather will be generally cold in most areas, very cold over the mountainous heights, and mostly cloudy with rain and hail, God willing, at intervals in the north and center of the Kingdom. The winds will be westerly, active in speed, and will stir up dust and dirt in the desert areas.
During the night hours of Saturday/Sunday, the effect of the cold polar air mass deepens towards the Kingdom, but it deepens in a continental path, which weakens the chances of precipitation. There is another noticeable drop in night temperatures, such that the weather turns to become very cold in most areas and very cold over the high mountain heights, and fluctuates between partly cloudy and sometimes cloudy. The chances remain in the early night hours for showers of rain and hail, God willing, in some areas, which may be in the form of snow showers over the peaks of the high mountain heights.
As time passes, the chances of precipitation weaken in most areas except the southern ones, where there is still a chance of intermittent snow showers in the mountains, and freezing occurs in the high mountainous elevations, especially the southern ones.
