Weather of Arabia - Snake expert Yassin Al-Saqour, through the news agency "Saraya", denied the existence of the so-called "snake hibernation" during the winter, which is a misconception that has been prevalent for a long time.
Al-Suqur explained that the snakes are in a state of lethargy and lack of movement in cold weather, but they are ready to attack and bite anyone who approaches them.
He pointed out that some people pick up the static snake and hold it in cold weather, thinking that it is dead, and the reality is quite the opposite.
And he warned, through "Saraya", against the heavy spread of snakes in warm or humid areas during cold weather, calling for not underestimating small-sized snakes, as they emit deadly toxins.
Pointing out that it may be present in homes, farms, abandoned buildings, and agricultural ponds.
On the other hand, Al-Saqour told Saraya that the snakes that appear during the daytime hours are "non-toxic" and threaten to be killed by the citizens, while the poisonous snakes come out in the early hours of the day and at night, stressing that there is no relationship between the size and length of the snake and its danger.
