Yesterday, Wednesday, the Kingdom was affected by an air depression accompanied by good rains in most regions of the Kingdom, especially in the northern regions of the Kingdom, and the meteorological station in the Baqoura region in the northern Jordan Valley recorded the highest amount of precipitation during the past 24 hours, reaching 23.0 mm, and the second highest A cumulative amount of rain reached to this date about 125.8 mm after the Ras Munif area, while the rate of rain accumulation in the northern region reached 81.2 mm, which means that the performance for this season of the presumed rate for these areas decreased by 92%, according to the statistical report of rain, issued by Jordan Meteorological Department on 12/17/2020.

As for the capital Amman and the central regions of the Kingdom, the western parts recorded a higher rate of precipitation than the eastern parts, where the rate of rain accumulation in the western parts of the central regions reached about 74.4 mm, after those areas recorded 3.1 mm during the day, while the average amount Rainfall in the eastern parts of the central regions until this date is 29.8 mm. Nevertheless, the rate of rain performance in the eastern parts exceeded the rates assumed by about 112%, as the meteorological station in the Ghabawi region recorded a rainfall performance rate of 189% over the assumed average for the region.

However, some regions of the Kingdom witnessed a weak performance of rain yesterday. Monitoring stations in Wadi Ad-Dilayl, Al-Ghabawi and Al-Mafraq recorded the lowest amounts of rain that did not exceed 1 mm, while the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba did not witness any rain yesterday, as well as Al-Jafr, Maan and Azraq Al-Janoubi regions, despite the high rate of rain performance in the King Hussein International Airport area in Aqaba, 155% above the assumed rates.

In general, what was achieved from the rainy season in most regions of the Kingdom did not exceed 30% compared to the seasonal average of precipitation in these regions, with the exception of Aqaba Governorate, where the monitoring station of King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba recorded that the region achieved 55% of its seasonal average. It should be noted here that the seasonal rate of rain in a region indicates the average amount of rain that fell on the region in that season during thirty years, as the highest seasonal rate of rain was recorded in the Ras Munif station in the Ajloun governorate, which was 586.8 mm, while the lowest was recorded.
