Arab Weather - According to the latest outputs of computer simulations, Arab Weather experts said that Jordan is affected by a low-pressure system centered far from the Kingdom, accompanied by a cold air mass, until Tuesday evening. The low-pressure system is accompanied by an additional drop in temperatures and an increase in cold weather, with rain falling at intervals, especially in the northern regions.
The weather will be generally cold in most areas, and very cold in the southern Badia regions and the southern parts of the Sharah Mountains. Some scattered showers of rain are likely, God willing, in the north of the Kingdom. There is also a chance of frost forming in parts of the southern Badia and the southern parts of the Sharah Highlands. The winds will be southwesterly, light to moderate in speed, and may become active at times.
The same computer maps at the Arab Weather Center show that the low pressure system will continue far from the Kingdom on Sunday, but the Kingdom will be under the influence of the cold air mass accompanying it, so temperatures will remain below average and the weather will be cold, with the maximum temperature in the capital Amman reaching around 12 degrees Celsius, and clouds will appear in the north and center of the Kingdom, while they will be accompanied by chances of some precipitation in the far north of the Kingdom.
During the hours of Sunday/Monday night, the low pressure system will slowly move eastward to approach the Kingdom, and as a result, the chances of precipitation will improve, as the opportunity for scattered showers of rain will gradually become available in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom, and the weather will be cold in various regions.
The specialists at the Arab Weather Center indicated that the simulation of the movement of the low pressure system indicates that it is gradually approaching the Kingdom on Monday 12/30/2024, so its effects on the atmosphere will gradually increase, as temperatures will drop and the weather will be cold, and rain is expected, God willing, at intervals in the north of the Kingdom, perhaps heavy at times. It is also possible that some showers will extend to parts of the central regions of the Kingdom, accompanied by hail at times.
Rain will continue, God willing, in the north of the Kingdom during the hours of Monday/Tuesday night, and will gradually extend to the center of the Kingdom, especially after midnight, accompanied by hail at times. At dawn, the rainfall is expected to reach Karak Governorate. The weather will be generally cold in most areas, and low clouds will pass in contact with the ground surface in the mountainous heights, leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility.
Rainfall, God willing, will be concentrated in the south of the Kingdom, accompanied by hail showers. Some precipitation is likely to be in the form of sleet or light snow on the high peaks of the Sharah Mountains. Despite the concentration of precipitation in the south of the Kingdom, there is a good chance of some limited precipitation in the rest of the regions.
Night temperatures drop significantly and approach zero degrees Celsius in some areas. The weather is generally cold in most areas, and very cold especially over the high mountainous areas, the eastern plains and the desert. Rain chances are expected to gradually decrease and remain in random and limited parts of the south of the Kingdom, and fog is gradually forming in large parts of the Kingdom during the late night hours. Frost is also expected to form in the eastern plains and some areas of the southern desert, in addition to the Sharah Mountains. Winds are light and variable.
The Gaza Strip is affected by the same low pressure system, but its effects are strong on the Strip. Today, Saturday, and Sunday, cold winter weather will prevail with scattered showers of rain at the forefront of the low pressure system, which will begin to affect the Kingdom during the hours of Sunday/Monday night until Tuesday/Wednesday night, accompanied by cold and rainy weather at times. The rain will be heavy on several occasions, sometimes accompanied by thunder, leading to a rise in water levels and the occurrence of water pools.
