After a month of closure, the Jordanian government allows tourist restaurants to return to work within specific conditions and standards

Weather of Arabia - Within a press briefing held today, Monday 13/4/2020, the Minister of Tourism, Majd Shweikeh, announced that tourist restaurants will be allowed to work and provide food by way of home delivery, according to specific conditions, namely:

• Personnel subjected to corona examination
• Adhere to safety requirements
• The number is 20-30% of the original number
• Pre-inspection of the restaurant
• Determine service times 10-6 pm
• Determine the electronic payment mechanism only
• Serve well cooked meals
• Launching the www.delivery.mota.jo platform to receive orders from tourist restaurants who wish to provide home delivery or food handling directly from the restaurant

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Majd Shweikeh, announced that the owners and practitioners of licensed tourist professions are exempt from fees and fines resulting from renewing licenses for this year.

She pointed to the exemption of workers in the facilities affiliated with the Ministry and the Department of Antiquities from the rent allowance and refunding the amounts received for this purpose, and she explained that the tourism sector, which recorded growth last year, exceeded 4 billion dinars, is today the sector most affected by the global crisis caused by the Corona virus.
