Weather of Arabia - 12 Arab countries announced that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr after it was not possible to see the crescent of Shawwal, and official sources in Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Tunisia and Algeria confirmed this decision.
The Egyptian Fatwa House announced that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the crescent sighting committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs confirmed that tomorrow, Tuesday, is the completion of the month of Ramadan, and that Wednesday is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
In Saudi Arabia, the Royal Court announced, based on the Supreme Court’s decision, that Tuesday is the completion of the month of Ramadan, and that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to the official news agency (SPA).
The official Emirates News Agency reported that tomorrow is the completion of the month of Ramadan, and that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr in the country.
Kuwait, Bahrain, and Sudan announced that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to separate statements issued by the Sharia Vision Boards in the two Gulf countries, and the Islamic Jurisprudence Council in Sudan (governmental).
While Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Tunisia, and Algeria announced that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to a televised speech by the Grand Mufti of the Palestinian territories, Muhammad Hussein, and Hisham bin Mahmoud, the Tunisian Republic, and a statement from their Lebanese counterpart, Abdul Latif Derian, and another from the Yemeni Ministry of Endowments.
While Turkey, which relies on astronomical calculations, has determined that Wednesday is officially the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to an announcement from the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
Answer: Most Arab and Islamic countries rely on observing the Shawwal crescent through astronomical observatories, in line with the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
“Fast when you see it, break your fast when you see it, and keep quiet for it. If it is cloudy for you, then complete thirty.”
After the vision is confirmed by legal means, the date of Eid al-Fitr will be announced in the countries that adopt the vision.
On the other hand, some Islamic centers and countries adopt astronomical calculations to determine the start date of Shawwal.
For example, in Turkey, the Presidency of Religious Affairs designated Wednesday, April 10, as the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
The holy month of Ramadan began on the eleventh of last March in 17 Arab and Islamic countries, including Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine, while the holy month began on Monday, the twelfth of March, in 4 countries, namely the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Morocco, and Libya.
