Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest updates of advanced numerical computer outputs indicate that a cold and rainy air front will cross Algeria on Sunday/Monday evening and night and gradually extend towards Tunisia, coinciding with the rush of tropical moisture, which will lead to the formation of a complex state of atmospheric instability.
Based on the above, God willing, thunderclouds will form and grow to high levels in the atmosphere, accompanied by severe weather phenomena such as (heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, strong hailstorms with large hailstones, and strong downward winds).
The terrain and topography of the land contribute to the process of air lifting, especially the Atlas Mountains and the surrounding areas. Mountain valleys and low-lying areas are susceptible to sudden torrential floods, in addition to the high risk of flooding in several areas due to the large amounts of rain expected in some areas.
Early warning and extreme weather maps indicate that Algeria, especially the Moroccan-Algerian border, as well as the northern regions of Tunisia, are likely to be exposed to extreme weather conditions represented by the formation of high-altitude tropical cumulonimbus clouds, as these clouds are expected to be accompanied by very heavy rainfall.
We at Arab Weather note the high probability of severe thunderstorms in these areas, accompanied by very heavy showers of rain, which are sometimes accompanied by hailstones of large sizes, in addition to strong winds resulting from descending winds during the formation of thunderclouds.
