Al-Musnad | A magical and rare phenomenon in Saudi Arabia, “the fiery aura,” and here it is repeated

Arab Weather - Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, former professor of climate at Qassim University and vice president of the Saudi Weather and Climate Society, defined the phenomenon of the "fire halo or cloud rainbow " as occurring as a result of the scattering and reflection of sunlight through fine ice particles in high clouds, especially at the edges of the cloud top.

Al-Masnad explained via his account on the "X" platform that this effect works as a prism that refracts and disperses light, producing multiple colors similar to a rainbow. He added that this phenomenon is rare in Saudi Arabia, but it is relatively common in the clouds of the Sarawat Mountains, where it is considered a picturesque and attractive natural scene.
