Arab Weather - Astronomy and meteorology expert, Dr. Khaled Al-Zaaq, confirmed that Thursday will witness the beginning of the first partially cold winter waves, especially at night, and the public calls it the "Ahmar Strike."
Al-Zaqaq explained via the X platform that this cold wave is popularly known as “the strike of the red,” and it is a signal for people to prepare for winter, whether in food, drink, or clothing. He explained that “the red” refers to a red star known to the ancient Arabs as “the star of the heart of the Scorpion,” which sets with sunset in the western direction in mid-November and reappears before sunrise in the eastern direction in mid-December.
Al-Zaqaq added that during this period, cold northern winds blow, forcing people to wear heavy winter clothes. He pointed out that the absence of the red star is accompanied by turbulence at sea, which is why sailors refrain from entering the sea during the red star period.
Today is Thursday:
We are experiencing the first semi-cold winter waves, especially at night.
It is called by the public the "Ahmar Strike".
