Arab Weather - Meteorologist Dr. Khaled bin Saleh Al-Zaqaq explained that the region is currently witnessing the annual date season in the Gulf countries.
Al-Zaqaq pointed out in a video he posted on his account on “X” that the rains currently falling on the Sultanate of Oman, Yemen and southern Saudi Arabia are known as autumn rains, in reference to the process of harvesting fruits.
He added that the date sheep season extends from its beginning to its end over a period of approximately two and a half months, as it begins at the end of June and continues during the months of July and August, and coincides with the beginning of the Gemini season.

The date season is a vital time in the Gulf, when the fruits reach full maturity and are harvested from the palm trees. This season is traditionally one of the most important times of the year for farmers, as it constitutes a large part of agricultural activity in the region. Many families depend on the date crop as a source of income, and this season also witnesses significant economic and commercial activity in local and Gulf markets.
