ArabiaWeather.com- The Charente-Maritimes region, located on the western coast of France, was hit by a 5-magnitude earthquake that lasted for several seconds today, Thursday, according to the National Seismological Network.
The epicenter of the earthquake was between the cities of La Rochelle and Rochefort, where a number of residents left their homes, and the "Alstom" factory for transportation in the town of Itre was also evacuated from workers.
The local authorities confirmed that no losses were recorded due to the earthquake, pointing out that the quake was the strongest the country had witnessed since April 7, 2014.
