Weather of Arabia - "Guinness World Records" from Dubai revealed the identity of the shortest man in the world, who is Iranian Afshin Ismail Qadirzadeh, at the age of 20, according to what was documented on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, with a length equivalent to 65.24 cm (2 feet and 1.68 inches).
Afshin was born in a remote village in Bokan Province, West Azerbaijan, Iran. He broke the previous record of Edward Nino Hernandez, who was born on May 10, 1986 in Bogota, Colombia, and is 72.1 cm tall, according to what was documented on February 29, 2020.
The event was attended by Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday and accredited arbitrator Kenzi Al-Dafrawi, with the participation of Dr. Bindu Devarajan, general practitioner at Al-Ahlia Medical Group. The measurements were monitored three times within one day to accurately determine the final length rate.
For his part, Guinness World Records editor Craig Glenday said, "I had the honor to meet Afshin and his family to confirm the identity of the shortest adult man in the world with a length equivalent to 65.24 cm, breaking the previous record by a wide margin and adding his name to the list of the shortest in history."
This iconic record is one of the numbers related to the human body and it is a moment that will mark a turning point in the history of this young man's life. Given his excitement during this visit to Dubai, he seems very poised to enjoy the life of fame that will follow him from now on. During this visit, he was able to achieve one of his dreams by visiting (the top of Burj Khalifa), the tallest tower on earth
The earth's surface.
Afshin's life in northern Iran was not easy, as he was not lucky enough to learn, but he is very happy after learning how to write his name, as he received a mobile phone as a gift from one of his friends, but he finds it difficult to carry it. He says, "Phones in general are heavy devices, especially when I use them for a long time, but I manage my affairs well."
Afshin is a very cheerful man which makes him popular in the village where he lives, as the people of that village call him "Mohammed". Afshin's family works hard to cover his living and medical expenses.
Nor can this little man wander around the village alone, but he is often accompanied by one of his parents, and although he can walk, he prefers to be carried.
"I know who is the tallest man in the world, and I can say that I fit perfectly in the palm of his hands," says Avish.
Some may think that clothes are a difficulty faced by tall people only, but Afshin suffers from the same problem. Although he fit the size of clothes intended for three-year-olds, their designs no longer fit him completely.
Afshin enjoys watching football matches, and he loves the star Cristiano Ronaldo, and prefers the captain of the Iranian football team, Ali Daei. Unfortunately, due to his small size, he does not participate in any sporting events, but he loves to dance a lot, especially to the tunes of Iranian Kurdish music.
Afshin never had a chance to get a copy of the Guinness Book of Records in his life, but he loves records related to the human body. "I can think of becoming a Guinness World Record family. It's like a dream come true sometimes. Imagine going to sleep today and waking up tomorrow and the whole world knowing who you are. It's a magical feeling," he admits. "I love the attention it gets from people." It makes me feel very special.”
Afshin does not have any pets, but he prefers cats over dogs. Afshin was born weighing in at 700g, and today he's around 6.5kg - an adult cat would be exactly his weight.
He concludes, "My dream is to be able to help my father. This global recognition may be a step towards achieving this dream."
