Arab Weather - Some global weather centers published during the previous days forecasts that the first Mediterranean storm this season will develop at the beginning of next week in the Mediterranean Sea. The same forecasts indicated that the storm is expected to affect parts of North Africa, including Libya.
The forecasts raised concerns among many parties in the concerned countries, especially Libya, about the possibility of a repeat of the famous Hurricane Daniel that hit Libya as its anniversary approaches, which affected Libya on September 10 of last year, and which led to significant losses in property and lives.
Weather forecasters at Arab Weather said that the weather conditions in the Mediterranean Sea are truly favorable for the formation of deep depressions, some of which may develop into medium storms, due to the significant rise in the surface temperature of the Mediterranean Sea, which recorded record temperatures during the past months, especially with the beginning of the rush of colder winds towards the south of the European continent via northern Europe.
However, at the same time, the forecasts of the global weather centers issued this morning , Monday 2-9-2024, are still very volatile regarding the formation of deep air depressions in the Mediterranean Sea, as looking at the current week, we find that the indicators are weak for the formation of a Mediterranean storm in the Mediterranean Sea, while indicators previously issued by the European Center are being monitored for the formation of a medium storm at the beginning of next week.
